This is an elective course approved for all listed Boards.

This course explores the impacts of Alzheimer’s disease and how its manifestations relate to the affected areas of the brain. Course content describes how patients express their needs when memory and problem-solving skills decline, and how behaviors may become the patient’s form of communication. Therapeutic communication and care strategies for living at home or in an assisted or skilled nursing facility are addressed.
